I've worked with family's who have children on both ends of that spectrum, from energetic and independent to those who are shy and need a slower pace. I have so many tricks up my sleeve to engage with your children and provide an fun environment and photograph your family's true connections by getting to know each of you during or coffee consult.
What if my children are shy or energetic during the session?
You're busy working, taking care of your little ones, and trying to squeeze in some "me" time so finding the time to create albums or wall galleries can be tough.
That’s why I help guide you through displaying your portraits in a way that fits your home and style, so your images don’t just sit on a computer but are enjoyed every day. which is beneficial for our and our children's sense of belonging and self esteem.
What if I don’t know what to do with the photos afterward?
Of course, One of the key parts of my approach is to take time to get to know you and your family beforehand, through a questionnaire and our consult call. This results in a session that feels more like a fun experience than a stuffy or posed session. The result is authentic, natural portraits that highlight your family’s unique bonds.
Do you create portraits that feel real and not posed?
I provide styling guidance, a curated selection of dresses for Mamas to borrow for your session and location suggestions based on your vision.

What if I don’t know what to wear or where to have the session?
FAQs
First, Congratulations! If you are here and asking this question you must be expecting a sweet little one.
Second, Maternity Portraits are best taken in the 3rd Trimester, usually between 28 & 34 weeks. Your belly will be more round and pronounced, perfect for your portraits and you will likely still feel comfortable.
When should we take Maternity Photos?
I recommend something lightweight with movement. You don't have to wear something tight to show off your belly, we will do this through thoughtful posing!
One of my top tips for Mama’s when we start their Virginia Beach Maternity Photo session is to always have a hand on your belly.
I also provide a curated selection of dresses for you to borrow for your session as well as personalized styling for you and your family!
What should I wear for my Maternity Portraits?
Absolutely! Your pregnancy is something that your husband and children are experiencing with you. Your husband might love to sing to baby and your little ones may like to kiss or hug your belly.
While we create beautiful portraits of just you, I wholeheartedly believe that they should be a part of your session.
Can my husband and children be a part of my Maternity Session?
The majority of the maternity portraits I create happen in one of my curated selection of outdoor locations or in the comfort and intimacy of your home.
However, I do occasionally create bespoke, fine-art Maternity Portraits of just the Mama to be and am happy to share more details with you during our Coffee Consult!
