I hope you enjoy finding inspiration in prior sessions, guidance, and a few of my favorite things. All this provides a seamless approach to preserving your family’s most cherished seasons.
If you ask me, there’s always a good reason to get some dessert. Whether you are celebrating a milestone like first day of pre-school or just celebrating the end of a long day, a trip to one of the ice cream shops in Virginia Beach is a sure way to make some sweet memories! As a Virginia Beach family photographer and a big ice cream fan, I am constantly looking out for new spots to try. Here are the ice cream shops in Virginia Beach I always recommend!
2207 Mt Pleasant Road, Chesapeake, Virginia 23322
Bergey’s Breadbasket is home to my favorite ice cream in all of Hampton Roads. There are a lot of things that make this Virginia Beach ice cream shop so unique! They have been family-owned for generations with ice cream that they’ve perfected over 75 years of business. They are constantly changing out their menu with brand new flavors for you to try. This family owned favorite also has a petting zoo where you can meet some of the sweetest animals before or after you get your scoop!
2809 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451
Lolly’s Creamery is a bit of a local institution. This Virginia Beach original is father and son owned with ice cream shops all across the area. They have a list of classic favorites like double dark chocolate, real deal vanilla, and cookie monster. They also have a rotating list of monthly specials you’re going to love!
2336 Elson Green Ave, #107, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23456
Be Free Craft Ice Cream is a veteran-owned ice cream shop you are going to feel great about supporting! This shop is constantly experimenting with different flavors to bring you something you’ve never had before. You can try out signature flavors like milli mint chocolate chip, Reese’s reloaded, confetti cake pops, and hazelnutella. They also have an impressive selection of non-dairy vegan options!
2510 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451
I’m sure you’ve enjoyed some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream at home while binging your favorite show. If you haven’t been to an actual location, however, you are in for a real treat! With their Virginia Beach ice cream shops, they elevate the experience by giving you decadent options you just can’t find in the freezer aisle. You can try out all their original flavors, and indulgent treats like sundaes, shakes, and chocolate-dipped cones.
2640 Dam Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23453
Gilly’s Creamery has become a favorite for locals all across Virginia Beach. The shop can get a little crowded, so be prepared. I promise, however, it’s well worth it! This location has homemade ice cream you’ll want to eat again and again. You can try out all the classic flavors like butter pecan, strawberry, and black forest. They also have signature sorbets. I love the pineapple orange, take a pint home and make a fun adult beverage with a scoop of sorbet a splash of rum and top it off with Key Lime LaCroix. Your kids may like a sherbet float too, no rum add sprinkles!
If you are in the mood for something sweet, I think you are going to adore these ice cream shops in Virginia Beach! Plan your visit today so you can have the best way to treat yourself.
